Fish On - July 12th

After suffering through a week long vacation to Hawaii and then having to return to work; it became quickly apparent that Cheryl and I need a refreshing weekend away. Hm, relaxation and fun, I know let's going fishing on the Green. In fact, I know the perfect guide, let's see I do believe that we have a son working near the Green and living in a trailer that we purchased. In fact, he claims to know where the fish are. Got my pole, got my fish vest, got my hat, let's go!

Saturday, bright and early we staked our claim on the Green and began to fish with the anticipation of catching our fill. Even Cheryl venture forth with pole in hand and a fly on the end of her line to land the big one.

Taylor as our guide, quickly demostrated his ability at catching fish. I think it took him about two cast and "fish on"! Little did we realize that this was going to be a foreshadow of the remainder of the day. We fished from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm took a short break and then returned again around 6:00 pm and fished until dark.

Taylor hooked a total of ninteen fish and landed sixteen of them. I think that he was the only one on the river catching fish. Everyone would just stare in amazement and wonder what fly he had on the line. One cast, two cast, "fish on". One cast, "fish on". It was amazing to watch him catch so many fish but as you can also see they were good size fish. The last catch of the day for him took him over 10 minutes to land a white fish that overfilled his net.

Cheryl gave up finally around noon after a valiant attempt to hook one. At one point I thought I heard her cry out "fish on" and when I turned to see what she had ..., well all I could see was her sitting in the water with her. She had slipped and went down and of course her waders captured the water. Luckily, after a few hours she did dry out.

Oh, how did I do? Well let's see, I finally that night started hooking some fish and good size at that. However, I could only land one. Let's just say it was a trophy size fish.

Nothing better than "Fish On"!
