A Happy Happy Birthday to Me & a Hoppy Hoppy Easter to my Family

Last weekend, the family got together and killed two birds with one stone.  It was time to celebrate Papa's (me) birthday and while we were all together let's celebrate Easter with an Easter Egg Hunt too.

Now John and Rachel you know you were invited and we missed you and the boys.  We know you were here in spirit and we look forward to the day when Uncle Sam brings you closer to home. Hopefully, you are having a wonderful Easter and we think about you guys a lot.

I received a few nice gifts to wear and the Air Force Hat topped the list from my missing Air Force Family.  In fact it gave a great opportunity to show the other grandchildren my "hat collection" as you can see in the photos.  We had quite the fashion show.

Taylor cooked an awesome steak and brauts dinner with Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler for dessert.  It was a real treat.

The best gift was just spending time with my family.  Thanks everyone!  I'll always cherish these times as family.

Family Fun

The only great escape from the every day pressures of  life is to spend time with the family.  This past week has been a great week as we had the great opportunity to spend time with my family on several occasions.

First, Wednesday was Boston's birthday.  I just giggle inside as I watch this little man go about his business:

Can I get my driver's license now/
Okay Papa, what side should I lean my head too.
A Tractor Cool!
Taking care of business.

Friday, we met our son and his wife for an enjoyable dinner at Red Lobster.  Somewhat a new experience for Amanda and fun to watch Taylor show her how to work hard for the delicious crab meat.  Another great enjoyable time with family.

I should also mention that during the past week, our second daughter and her husband received their new Air Force assignment.  Of course we were all wishing and hoping that they would be moving closer to home.  Hm.. I definitely don't have any pull with the Air Force since they were assigned to move even further east from us.  Montgomery Alabama will be a place to visit soon.

We were grateful to hear this week that they were able to locate a great home and neighborhood to call their new home.  We look forward to the day when they will be close to us and we can have them join us for our family events and activities on a more regular basis.  We do miss them when we gather as we did yesterday for a early grandma Easter Egg Hunt.

Who can not enjoy watching these precious jewels:

Who's on the phone?
Hm..a serious conversation
Lexi staking her territory.  Hm how many eggs and treats did she see in that corner?
Look what I found.

I'm sorry married grandchildren are annexed from the hunt or is it de-annexed?

Finished the weekend having them all come over Sunday morning for some of Grammy's yummy breakfast strata, potatoes, and cinnamon rolls. Near a perfect weekend and week spending time having family fun.
